Northfield High School Girl Is Featured Dancer In Peter Pan Ballet Coming In June

Mark your calendars for Friday, June 4, Saturday June 5 and Sunday June 6, and prepare to be dazzled by over 175 talented local dancers.
Among the dancers will be One of the featured dancers will be Brooke Townsend from Northfield who is 17 and will perform in her final show before going off to college.
Stowe Dance Academy’s end of the season performance at Dibden Center for the Arts at Johnson State College will mark its 18th year showcasing the talents and efforts of its many students and teachers.
This year, Artistic Director, Helena Sullivan is premiering her imaginative and playful ballet interpretation of Peter Pan.
The second half of the evening’s program will feature a wide array of dance styles including jazz, hip-hop, tap contemporary dance and much more. Young dancers as well as accomplished pre professional students will entertain and delight audience goers with their skill, presentation, and obvious love and passion for dance.
The Stowe Dance Academy is based in Stowe, Vermont, however, students come from as far away as South Burlington, Washington, Lyndonville, and Montpelier, as well as from Lamoille and Washington County in order to take class with Ms. Sullivan and her talented staff of teachers. Founded by Helena Sullivan over 18 years ago, herself a former professional dancer and international performer, Stowe Dance Academy is considered one of the premier dance studios in Vermont. Ms Sullivan’s program produces talent and professionalism, which is apparent with the success her students have had in the world of dance and theatre beyond Vermont.
This year’s ballet, Peter Pan, promises a fantastical display of colorful costumes, eye-popping sets, all original, never before seen choreography, and a musical compilation put together by Ms. Sullivan. A time-honored classic that delights audiences of all ages, Peter Pan, will feature Abby Fitzgerald, 16, of Morrisville as Peter. “As talented, strong and technical as Abby is, she also has the charisma to fill the whole theater,” Ms. Sullivan said.
Other featured dancers besides Ms. Townsend are Eliza Krakower, 15, of Stowe as Wendy, Rachel Zacharias, 16 of Waterbury as Tinkerbell and Reilly Faith, 12, of Morrisville as Tigerlily.
Stowe Dance Academy is thrilled to welcome back Vladimir Roje as a guest performer Ms. Sullivan also said.
Mr. Roje, who is currently a principal dancer with New Jersey Ballet, will dance the part of Mr. Darling and Captain Hook.
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Mr. Roje was a soloist with the Bulgarian National Theater for Opera and Ballet and later a Principal dancer at the Opera in Graz, Austria. One of Mr. Roje’s many achievements includes a bronze medal at the prestigious International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria.
The performers will be at the Dibden Center for the Arts at Johnson State College on Friday June 4 at 6:00 pm, Saturday June 5, at 6:00 pm and Sunday June 6, at 1:00 pm.
