Blue Devil Boys Overrun By South Royalton 16-7

The Blue Devil Boy’s Baseball team split the two game they played last week, On Thursday they fell to South Royalton 16-7. On Saturday they climbed back into the win column with a 17-0 thrashing of Craftsbury.
The Saturday win put the Blue Devil boys at 5-4 for the season.
Against South Royalton the ‘Devil’s defense had some problems in the early going and a seven run Royal’s sixth inning put things away.
Freshman Justin Beaudin started the game for Williamstown and went as far as the fifth with 56 pitches. Lefthander Justin Beaudet came on in relief and went the rest of the way for Williamstown. The bottom line was a 16-7 win for South Royalton.
Things really improved for the Blue Devils on Saturday against Craftsbury. The Boys of the Blue & White had their hitting shoes on as they pounded out 12 hits and cruised over the Chargers by a 17-0 count.
Williamstown scored at least two runs in every at bat and added three runs each in the second, fourth, and fifth innings.
Logan Clark had a big day for the Blue Devils. On the mound he pitched a complete game, throwing 64 pitches and striking out eight Chargers.
At the plate he had two hits including a two run home run in the second inning.
“I’m very proud of the team.. They came together and showed the intensity that they will need to get to Centennial,” said Jared Hart.
The Blue Devil Boy’s will host Rochester this Saturday in an 11:00 a.m. game.
