Marauders Maintain Perfect Record Sitting At 12 Zip
The Northfield High Baseball team maintained it’s perfect record and picked up three wins last week. On Tuesday at Randolph the Marauders knocked off the Galloping Ghosts15-5. On Thursday they topped Oxbow
11-4 and on Saturday they defeated Lamoille 13-3.
At Randolph Sam Dyer did double duty. He picked up the win on the mound and helped out his own cause with a double and a triple. The Northfield Lumber and Power Company was out in full force as the Marauders picked up their tenth win of the season. Zach Daley, Theo Tillas and Eli Diebold each chipped in with two hits for the Maroon & White Boys.
At Home against Oxbow last Thursday the Marauders had a tougher time of it. The pesky Olympians just wouldn’t go away. At least for the first five innings. But a big bottom of the fifth broke open a 4-3 game and propelled Northfield to an 111-4 victory. Adam Daley turned in another terrific pitching performance and helped himself at the plate with a single and a double. Sam Dyer had two hits and 3 RBI and Zach Daley, who came on to pitch the seventh inning had a pair of singles and a triple with two RBI as the Marauders picked up win number eleven.
Back on the road again on Saturday the Marauders notched win number twelve. Sam Dyer was on the hill for the Marauders and he and Hobie Warren threw a combined one-hitter as Northfield rolled over the Lancers 13-3. Sam also added three hits including a two run home run.
His teammates were active at the plate as well. Eli Diebold had three hits including a triple and Zach Daley and Billy Whaley each chipped in with two hits. With the win the Marauder’s unblemished record stands at 12-0.
