Alice C. Albizzati, 100, Longtime Four Seasons Resident
Alice C. Albizzati, 100, a former longtime Barre resident, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Four Seasons Community Care Home in Northfield where she had resided for the past 14 years. She was born on Dec. 27, 1909, in Italy. At an early age, she came with her family to the United States settling in Barre where she had made her home for most of her life. Alice attended Barre schools and graduated from Spaulding High School.
For many years, she worked at the former F. H. Rogers Men's Store in Barre as the bookkeeper. In earlier years, she was a member of the Barre Professional Women's Association. In 1996, she moved from the North Barre Manor to the Four Seasons Community Care Home in Northfield.
Alice enjoyed listening to music especially opera and watching sports including the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics games.
Survivors include her nieces, Diane Donovan and her husband, Jack of Plainfield, Loretta Hawkins and her husband, Gordon of Bolton, Mass., and Brenda Albizzati of Morganfield, Ky.; her nephew, Alfred Albizzati of Connecticut; grandnieces and grandnephews, John, Joanne, Missy, Heather, James, Tricia, and Bridgette.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, Venizio Albizzati; and nephew, Dennis Albizzati.
Her graveside service was held on June 2, 2010, in the Hope Cemetery in Barre.
