OLYMPIA, WA - Ronald E. Austin died on May 31, 2010 at Clare Bridge Memory Care Center in Olympia, WA.

Ron was born in Northfield on January 11, 1942 to Elmer and Phyllis Austin (deceased).

Ron married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Ann (Union) Austin on June 13th 1964 after graduating from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Mathematics.

He spent 2 years in the United States Army in Texas, then moved to Washington to work at Boeing.

Ron enjoyed camping, hunting, reading westerns and traveling throughout the U.S., Caribbean and Europe.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife Joyce of Lacey, WA; daughters Debra Austin Sullivan of Woburn, MA and Laurie Austin Isop of Renton, WA; sisters Barbara Skirry of Barre, Janice Spatz of Oak Harbor, WA, Patricia Brockway, Betty Jo Kerin and Kathy Austin of Northfield; brother Edward Austin of Freeport, IL; grandsons Austin and Erik Isop of Renton, WA; and 7 nieces and 5 nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 16th, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey, WA. Interment will be at 3 p.m. on June 16th at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
