NEW CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOKS:

As a result of receiving two grants this spring, the children of Roxbury have received over 75 new books, and two beautiful display units for better viewing of the books. A matching grant from The Libri Foundation netted 27 wonderful books ranging from classics like The House in the Night (Susan Swanson) to a biography of Jacques Cousteau, Manfish, by Jennifer Berne to an entertaining tale, Skunkdog (Emily Jenkins). These books have been flying off the shelves and going home with our youngest readers. Another 50 or so wonderful books were purchased with a Winnie Belle Learned grant, which also provided the display units built by local craftsman Clarence Baker. Parents, bring your kids in to see all these great new books and enjoy how much easier it is to find a book of choice. We are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. With summer coming up, you and your children will need good books to read!
