Two Artists Will Display Works At Chandler Gallery

Photo courtesy Chandler Gallery Vermont painters Virginia Webb and George Lawrence will be displaying their works at Chandler Gallery in Randolph from July 1 through August 29. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, June 27 from 6 - 8 pm and the public is welcome!

The gallery exhibit space has been expanded and updated with Chandler's year-long renovation project. Virginia Webb will exhibit her larger oil works of landscapes, stills and portraits in the front room of the gallery.

George Lawrence will present a show of miniatures; watercolor and acrylic landscapes and abstracts, as well as matchbook paintings. This exhibit, dubbed "the small side", will be located in the back room of the Chandler Gallery.

Virginia Webb first studied art at the Julien Academy in Paris, France in 1952. She went on to study landscape painting with Jay Hall Connaway in Dorset, Vermont and portrait painting with Robert Brackman and Sidney Dickenson at the Art Student's League in NYC. She has had one-woman shows all around the country and has won many awards in competition in New York, Massachusetts and Vermont. Her paintings hang in many private collections and public galleries including the Berkshire Museum, Lawrence Rockefeller's Woodstock Inn Collection, the Southern Vermont Arts Center, the Vermont State House and others. Virginia now resides in Hanover, N.H.

Virginia Webb Virginia Webb George Lawrence is a native of Florida and a graduate of the Ringling Brothers School of Art. He was a graphic designer for many years before moving to Vermont to fulfill his dream of being a full time painter and teacher; a dream he has kept alive for the past thirty years. He has been an art instructor in Provence, France, and more locally at the Mountain School, the Basin Harbor Club, Pentangle, Fletcher Farm School of Arts and Crafts and the Chandler Gallery. He has had numerous one-man shows throughout Vermont and Maine, and travels yearly to exhibit his works on Ocracoke Island in North Carolina. George resides in Tunbridge, Vt.

Chandler Gallery is located at 73 Main Street in Randolph, Vt. Admission is free. Gallery hours are Thurdays from 4 - 6 pm, Saturday and Sundays from
