“Love Letters” is a smash at Lost Nation
I attended Lost Nation Theater's second show of the season last Friday night and laughed until I cried! What a great group of performers. There are some familiar faces such as Maura O'Brien, Kim Bent, Jude Milstein and Ben Ash. as well as new faces Alex Birnie, Elysia Jordan, Nina Waters & Matthew Zahnzinger. The combination is dynamite!
Jeanne Beckwith wrote the play and was there for a preshow talk. It was great to hear where she got the inspiration to create this. With Jeanne Beckwith and Kathleen Keenan Directing it was destined to be a hit.
This tongue in cheek, slightly twisted, yet still hopeful love song is the perfect antidote to wedding month. Eight actors play over three dozen characters in a dozen different situations inspired by love - in all its forms and obsessions! Inspired by a wedding present to the author - the Edwardian advice book Love Letters Made Easy - the play juxtaposes this advice on love with modern day situations. Explore love's promises, perils, & pitfalls!
