Scott For Lieutenant Governor
TO THE EDITOR: THE NORTHFIELD NEWS THIS LETTER is written in strong support of Senator Phil Scott for Lieutenant Governor. We have many excellent candidates for Lt. Governor this year, but let me explain why Phil Scott is my choice.
He will support policies that will create jobs for Vermonters. He believes that workforce training, excellence in education, statewide cell service and broadband are essential to our economic future.
As Chair of the Senate Institutions and Vice Chair of the Transportation Committees, he has worked across party lines to put Vermonters to work by improving our highways, bridges and infrastructure.
He is highly regarded in the Senate and understands how the Legislature works. Because of the high turnover in Senate Leadership this year, it is important to have a Lt. Governor who presides over the Senate and “hit the ground running.”
He is the owner of a business and has the respect of his workers and all those who do business with him.
The fact that he his one of three minority chairs in the Legislature speaks volumes of the respect in which he is held.
Phil Scott strongly supports community led efforts. His “Wheels For Warmth” program has been of help to thousands of Vermonters.
The office of Lt. Governor is a very important one. Phil Scott is an outstanding candidate for this position. He is truly a common person with uncommon results. In order for him to be Lt. Governor, he must win in the primary on August 24th. If you believe in his qualifications, save a vote for him.
