A scholarship to honor Nick Simon has been established at Northfield High School.

Nick passed away June 14, 2010 after a courageous five year fight with brain cancer.

The scholarship will go to a graduating senior with strong musical talent or an interest in pursuing social work.

Nick loved music of all kinds. He played both the drums and trumpet with the Northfield High School Band and the Northfield Community Jazz Band. Nick completed his junior year at the University of Vermont and was pursuing a degree in social work, planning to mentor cancer patients after graduation.

There are several ways to get your donation to the high school -

1) Mail your check directly to Tom McKone, Principal Northfield High School, 37 Cross St, Northfield, VT 05663

2) Leave your check with Cynthia Wrigley, front desk at the high school

3) Leave your check with Diane McCormack at the Northfield Savings Bank or Doreen Allen at the Merchants Bank and they will make sure your check gets to the high school principal.
