TO THE EDITOR: THE NORTHFIELD NEWS AS THE RACE director of the Northfield Labor Day 5k and 1-mile Kids Race, I have many people to thank specifically and generally. Northfield Savings Bank employees Conor Schober, Melissa Neun, Tim Barre, and Lori Belding handled the applications, volunteer recruitment, finances, t-shirts, and advertising. Members of the Central Vermont Runners, including Donna Smyers, John Hackney, Tim Noonan, and Andrea McLaughlin, computed the results and led the wonderful and able group of seventeen finish line volunteers. Norwich Cadets, most of them Rooks recruited by Nicole DiDomenico, helped with traffic control and carrying race equipment. Finally, I want to thank the Labor Day Committee, a small band of dedicated, fun, and tireless residents, for assembling another fun weekend of entertainment.
