Suspect in custody in Randolph National heist
Dennis Smith, 23, of Morrisville has been charged with possession of stolen property in connection with the robbery of the Randolph National Bank in Williamstown last week.
Immediately following the robbery, State Police obtained information that a Honda Accord was the getaway vehicle and police obtained the license number and description of the vehicle.
Mr. Smith was found driving the vehicle police said and a search of the vehicle found some of the stolen cash from the bank heist.
This is an ongoing investigation, Detective Sargeant Lance Burnham from State Police said adding that police are following leads and have executed a number of search warrants.
Police believe that there are other people involved.
At the time, the robber was described as an 18 year old with fair skin, about 5 foot 7 inches tall and 130 pounds dressed in black except for silver frame glasses.
This does not describe Mr. Smith who has been arrested and it is believed that the actual robber has not yet been found.
