‘Laughter Yoga’ At The Senior Center
Laughter Yoga is coming to the Northfield Senior Center.
What is Laughter Yoga you ask? It’s a gentle, aerobic exercise combining laughter and breathing.
Started in 1995 by a medical doctor, Madan Kataria, in Mumbai, India -- there are now thousands of Laughter Yoga groups all over the world.
In Laughter Yoga we choose to laugh intentionally. When we choose to laugh playfully with others in a safe space, our bodies reap healthy physiological and psychological benefits. Laughter boosts our immune system, helps us feel energized, and increases our sense of wellbeing said Ann Langbecker, leader of the group.
