Paine Mountain Art Show Opens This Weekend

The Seventh Annual Northfield Art Show, sponsored by the Paine Mountain Arts Council, will be held January 27-29, 2012 at the Community Room, Brown Public Library. Thirty-one artists who live or work in Northfield and surrounding towns will exhibit a variety of artwork including photography, paintings, pastels, graphite, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics/pottery, basketry and wood carving. Some artists have participated every year while others will be showing their work for the first time. The public is invited and there is no admission charge. The opening reception will take place Friday, Jan 27 from 7-9 pm. The Art Show will be open from 12-9 pm on Friday, 10 am -7 pm on Saturday, and 12-4 pm on Sunday.The Art Show Committee includes Bill Barnard, Frank Drown, Pam Druhen, Claude Druhen, Jim Jones, Alexis Kyriak, Isabel Weinger Nielsen, Kathy Ravenhorst-Adams and Fred White. Students from Northfield High School and Norwich University’s Center for Civic Engagement will assist in setting up the exhibit.
