Local Man Charged with Kiddy Porn Possession
Scott W. Grant, 42, of Northfield has been arraigned on charges that he took nude pictures of a young girl between 2009 and 2011 and had hundreds of pictures of child pornography, commonly referred to as kiddy porn. In the criminal court in Barre last week, Mr. Grant plead not guilty to charges that he had possession of child pornography. If convicted, he faces a maximum of seven years in jail and an $11,000 fine. He is presently free without bail.
Pictures of a young girl were allegedly found on his laptop in September of 2011 when his then-wife used his computer to check the news because her own computer was acting up according to the affidavit filed at the time of his arrest. His computer allegedly had many other graphic pictures of naked girls younger than 16, police said.
According to the police, Mr. Grant placed a camera outside the girl’s bedroom where he could take pictures through the window from outside when she was changing or getting out of the shower.
When police confiscated the computer on a search warrant, they said that they found 433 images of possible child pornography and 77 images of possible voyeurism.
