Genevieve Genny Marsh, 19, Father from Northfield

Genevieve “Genny” Marsh, 19, of Cheyenne, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in Cheyenne.

Genny was born on January 23, 1994 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and had lived in Cheyenne for the last 4 ½ years.

She had attended East High School and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Genny excelled in gymnastics as a youth and was a junior member of 4-H. She was 12th generation of the Mayflower Society, and was a very good fisherwoman. She enjoyed going to the mining sites with her Dad and was an avid rock hunter and collector. Most of all, her passion was art, and she was very good at preserving memories by sketching.

She is survived by her parents, Steve, originally from Northfield, and Andrea (Dempsey) Marsh of Cheyenne; her grandmother, Alice V. Dempsey of Golden, Colorado; a half-brother, Michael Marsh; two aunts, Sharon Dempsey of Lakewood, Colorado and Mary Jo Basik of Fallbrook, California; five uncles, Michael Dempsey of Carlsbad, California, Gregory Dempsey of Sarasota, Florida, Thomas Dempsey of Hotchkiss, Colorado, Jim Dempsey of Golden, Colorado, and Douglas Marsh of Medford, New York.

Genny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Priscilla Marsh, and Edward F. Dempsey; and her half-brother, Matthew Marsh.

Vigil for the Deceased will be Tuesday, February 26th, 6:00 p.m., at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel, 1900 East 19th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82001.

Mass will be Wednesday, February 27th, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 314 E. 6th Street, Cheyenne, WY 82007 with Father Carl Gallinger as the celebrant.

Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel.
