December 15

5:21 p.m. - Citizen Assist - Northfield Police assisted a resident in the Village of Northfield who was locked out of their residence. Services rendered. Nothing Further.

December 16

9:10 a.m. - Suspicious Person/Circumstance - An Officer was advised of a citizens dispute complaint which had occurred at a business on North Main Street. THe officer spoke with all parties involved, including several witnesses. The incident has been logged should future altercations transpire and enforcement action is necessary.

11:09 a.m. - Juvenile Problem - The Northfield police department received a report of a juvenile that had packed a bag and left their legal guardians residence. Officers responded to the area but no sign of a juvenile was found, there were a set of distinct and fresh tracks. The juvenile was ultimately contacted and spoken to. Arrangements were made to rectify the problem until something futher could be done.

December 26

4:13 p.m. - Family Fight/Domestic - The Northfield Police Department received a report of a couple that was fighting and a request for an officer was made. Officers responded and separate the two individuals speaking to both of them about the current situation and what needed to be done from there.

December 27

8:30 p.m. - Vehicle towed - Officers of the Northfield Police Department had a vehicle towed for not having proper insurance, no registration and the driver was also suspended. The Driver was ticketed for the motor vehicle violations.

9:19 p.m. - Suspicious Person/Circumstance - Officers located a suspicious circumstance while on patrol. Investigation into the incident yielded nothing suspicious.

9:51 p.m. - Suspicious Person/Circumstance - Police responded for a report of suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Police found that the vehicle had since departed from the scene. No criminal activity was found to be amiss, so no further action was taken.

- Officers responded to a report of a single car crash. Upon my arrival, I located the vehicle overturned in the roadway. The driver was located, and determined to be un-injured. North Main Service removed the vehicle from the roadway. Nothing further.

December 28

12:55 a.m. - Parking Problem - Two vehicles were ticket for parking in violation of Winter- Ban. There were no precipitating weather factors, so the vehicles were not towed.

1:10 a.m. - Citizen Assist - Officers assisted a citizen with obtaining mental health services from Washington County Mental Health.

4:41 p.m. - Agency Assistance - The Northfield Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle that had broken down and needed assistance. Officers responded to the scene and provided lights. A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle and arrangements were made for the occupants.

11:18 p.m. - Agency Assistance - The Vermont State Police requested assistance. The was a report of a vehicle in the park and ride on vt rt 64 that had an audible alarm sounding. The officer responded to the area and located the vehicle. The alarm was turned off and all was deemed ok.

December 29

1:08 a.m. - Foot Patrol - An officer conducted foot patrol and business checks on Plaza Drive. All was found to be secure. Nothing further.

1:18 a.m. - Foot Patrol - An officer conducted foot patrol and business checks in the Depot Square area. One location was found to be unsecured, see proceeding case. All other properties were found to be secure. Nothing further.

1:36 a.m. - Parking Problem - Winter-Ban parking enforcement was conducted. One violation was observed, and the vehicle was ticketed for the violation. Since there were no precipitating weather factors at the time, the vehicle was not towed.

5:27 a.m. - Citizen Dispute - An Officer responded to the report of a citizens dispute complaint.

The complainant reported his ex-girlfriend came home from the bar and went berserk. The officer observed garbage bags dumped in the kitchen as well as an overturned dish drying rack with broken plates. The bedroom didn't fair much better with clothes strewn amuck. The complainant requested the incident be documented and for her to never show her face again.

11:43 a.m. - Litter/Pollution/Public Health - The Northfield Police Department received a report from an individual that had just had a verbal confrontation with another at their residence. Officers responded and provided statement forms to be filled out, took photographs to document the scene and is looking into the incident further.

12:34 p.m. - Citizen Dispute - The Northfield Police Department received a report from an individual who stated that there was unwelcome people knocking on the door of their residence. Police responded and spoke to the parties involved and resolved the issue at hand.

8:35 p.m. - MV Complaint - An Officer on patrol came across a motorist who had slid off of the road due to the slickery road conditions. The motorist had already made arrangements for a pull back. The Officer remained on scene for traffic safety until the vehicle was underway again.

December 30

12:08 a.m. - Parking Problem - An Officer conducted a special winter parking ban patrol and issued a parking ticket to a vehicle parked on Central St. North Main Towing Service was contacted to remove the vehicle but a driver came out and moved the vehicle prior to towing.

1:13 a.m. - Noise Disturbance - An Officer was advised of a noise complaint. As no Officers were on duty at the time, the complaint was followed up on at a later time.

11:59 a.m. - Foot Patrol - An officer conducted a foot patrol of Depot Square.

3:16 p.m. - Citizen Assist - The Northfield Police Department received a report from a number of individuals saying they have been attempting to deal with a situation they have had for some time now with little luck. I spoke with the individuals and explained to them the circumstances and what we could do to help.

3:18 p.m. - Lost Property - The Northfield Police Department received lost property. The owners of the property were located and the property is being returned.

3:54 p.m. - MV Complaint - The Northfield Police came across a vehicle that appeared to need assistance. North Main Service was called and the vehicle was ultimately towed to a safer location.

Decemaber 31

5:57 a.m. - Agency Assistance - Northfield Police Department assisted a motorist that had just struck a deer with their motor vehicle.

12:34 p.m. - Controlled Substance Problem - For the second time in less than two weeks, Northfield police arrested Douglas M. Lavigne, age 36, of Williamstown, for possession of a regulated drugs, felony. Lavigne was found with almost 3.5 pounds of marijuana. Orange County Sheriff's Department is assisting in the investigation, and seized property believed to be stolen. OCSD will be the lead agency into the stolen property investigation. Lavigne was lodged for lack of $5,000 bail and will be arraigned

1:12 p.m. - Unlawful Mischief - An officer of The Northfield Police Department responded to a suspicious activity complaint. Upon investigation nothing was found suspicious.

6:28 p.m. - Directed Patrol - The Northfield Police Department participated with other officers in a patrol for the Governor's Highway Safety.

10;11 p.m. - Welfare/Suicide Check - The Northfield Police Department responded with the Northfield Ambulance Service for a report of a welfare check. Upon arrival, Police assisted an individual experiencing a mental health crisis. The individual was transported the Central Vermont Medical Center to meet with Washington County Mental Health clinicians for further treatment and assistance.
