9:29 a.m. – Directed Patrol – An officer brought time sensitive case work to Washington Superior Court.
1:19 p.m. – Suspicious Person/Circumstance – An employee of a business off S. Main Street called to report a customer who’s behavior was escalating. Due to the customer’s behavior, the business declined to provide services to him. The complainant wrote out a statement about the behavior so there is a record should the behavior continue to escalate more.
10:20 a.m. – RFI-CIU – A concerned citizen stopped at the police station requesting information about how to prevent an elderly family member from driving when their ability to do so becomes unsafe. The officer informed the complainant about the process which typically involved the patient’s doctor completing a form which is sent to the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles. Police officer’s are also able to complete the form but typically, only after observing the driving first hand.
11:25 a.m. – Citizen Assist – A citizen requested to participate in a ride along.
5:23 p.m. – Theft – A firearm was reported stolen sometime within the last month. An investigation is ongoing and the NCIC has been notified.
7:43 a.m. – MV Complaint – A motorist reported a motor vehicle accident on VT Route 12 and Lover’s Lane. The vehicle in question was described as a dark Toyota truck.
1:54 p.m. – MV Complaint – A citizen requested to speak to an officer regarding a motor vehicle complaint.
1:31 p.m. – Suspicious Person/Circumstance – An individual reported suspicious activity. An officer responded to the area but found nothing.
2:50 p.m. – Citizen Assist – The department assisted an individual regarding possible identity theft. An officer documented the individual with additional information.
10:49 a.m. – Agency Assistance – The department’s assistance was requested in locating an individual. An officer went to their last known address and confirmed that they had moved from the apartment.
7:19 a.m. – Theft – An unlocked vehicle was gone through during the night. A phone charger was stolen. Two sets of footprints were discovered in the area.
2:16 p.m. – Parking Problem – An officer responded to a parking complaint on Byam Hill. The registered owner was contacted and a family member removed the vehicle.
6:57 p.m. – Alarm – Police responded to a store alarm. Thankfully, it turned out to be a false alarm. Even more on the plus side, the alarm and cameras work extremely well.
8:02 p.m. Noise Disturbance – Police provided a citizen’s assist to neighbors both proactively and seeking mediation to an issue.
10:53 p.m. – Agency Assistance – Police provided assistance to the Northfield Ambulance.
