Adult Summer Reading Program a Success

New this summer, adults have been invited to join in summer-reading fun at Ainsworth Public Library. The youth summer reading program at APL has been expanded to include adults, and the reading community is very excited. “We’ve had enormous interest,” says librarian Sarah Snow. “What fun to see all ages involved with summer reading.” Registration has closed for this year and now the participants are racing to read in order to earn entries into the individual age-specific drawings for prizes. “Friends of APL made it possible for us to offer prizes for the adults,” explained Snow. “It is very rewarding to see so much positive energy from all our participants.“ In addition to earning prize entries for reading, tickets may also be earned by anyone, through the weekly challenges, volunteering, or attending library programs. Those who may have missed registration can still earn entries, “almost anything that supports the library has the potential to earn an entry into the prize drawings, “ says Ms. Snow. However, those who are interested in this and are not registered participants should check with Ms. Snow beforehand. Library cards at APL are free to residents and nonresidents alike. Summer reading runs from now through the end of August.
