Summer Lunch Program

CERV (Northfield Community Relief Volunteers) is currently in the middle of its eight-week summer lunch program, providing supplemental food to families in the Northfield area.  Information was provided through area schools, and signups were done in advance.

While this is a help to many families, it doesn't fill all the gaps; there is always a need for contributions to the CERV Food Shelf, which offers food to anyone in need in our community.   Items that are always needed are canned tuna, peanut butter and jelly, baby food, and cereal. Any other types of food are welcome as well, to suit the many types of people who visit the Food Shelf!

If you know someone having trouble affording healthy food, please remind them of this community resource.    The CERV Food Shelf is open 9-12 on Saturdays.  Volunteers are always needed as well.  Potential volunteers can either stop by the shelf to leave a name and phone number, or call the CERV helpline at 485-4293 and leave a message.

All contributions to CERV, either cash or donations of food or clothing for the Clothing Shelf, are eligible as itemized deductions on tax returns, as CERV is a 501(c)(3) charity under the US tax code.  Cash donations may be mailed to CERV at PO Box 41,  Northfield Falls,  VT  05664.
