A big thank you to the Northfield Police, the Vermont State Police,
and the Vermont State Prosecutor’s Office
Dr. Rosemarie Pelletier, Director of the Master of Public
Administration and the Master of Science in Information Security
and Assurance Programs, along with Academic Associate Program
Director and University Chief Information Security Officer, George
Silowash, and all of the participating MSISA graduating students of
Norwich University’s College of Graduate and Continuing Studies
wish to thank Sergeant Brian Hoar, Police Chief Jennings, Detective
Sergeant Aimee Nolan, Trooper Amber Pouliot, Captain JP Sinclair,
Chief Deputy State's Attorney Rory Thibault, Norwich University
Public Safety Chief Rooney, North Main Garage, and Julie Ann
Sippel-Silowash, scenario author, for their help with the multiagency,
multi-day Computer Forensics and Incident Response exercise
held June 14-18, 2017.
Students used the skills learned during their master’s degree studies
and, assisted by the police, were able to “solve” the double murder/
drug event. The students, working with the police agencies spent
a day learning about subpoenas, preserving evidence, and professional
communication. They examined multiple “murder” scenes,
gathered evidence, and crafted a report based upon this multi-day
multi-agency exercise.
The second annual exercise is scheduled for June 17-20, 2018. For
more information, please contact Dr. Pelletier at
rpellet2@norwich.edu or George Silowash at gsilowas@norwich.edu
