Richard L. Lacoss, 77, Drove for Bellavance

Richard L. Lacoss, 77 of Worcester, Vermont died on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family and dog. 

He was born on April 21, 1940 in Morgan, Vermont, he was the son of the late LeRoy J. Lacoss, Sr. and the late Rena Holmes Lacoss. He was the husband of Janet Baker-Lacoss.

He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force service from 1961 and was discharged in 1965 as an Airman 2nd Class. Following his service, Dick was a heavy truck driver for multiple companies in Central Vermont area including Anderson Concrete, Williams Trucking and for many years with Bellavance Trucking in Barre. Dick also served as a rural mail carrier for the Worcester-Elmore and Burlington routes. 

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janet of Worcester, VT; son, Richard H. Baker of North Montpelier, VT; daughters, Shelley Baker of Hardwick, VT; Penny Durant of Hardwick, VT and Deborah Jones and husband Todd Jones of Northfield, VT; brother, Rodney Lacoss of Inverness, FL; and a sister, Geneva Hall of Hardwick, VT; 13 grandchildren; 32 Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his best friend, the family dog. "Pete".

He was predeceased by two brothers, LeRoy J. Lacoss, Jr. and Raymond A. Lacoss.

The families Home will be open to friends and family to gather from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the family's home at 149 Norton Road, Worcester, VT 05682. A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will begin at 1:00 PM.
