The season is winding down and there are three games left before the playoff picks are announced.

At Peoples the Exit 5 Girls (Northfield Williamstown combined team) fell into a 2-0 hole and couldn’t climb back out of it. Things were even for the first 26 minutes as both teams battled between the penalty boxes but the Wolves changed all that.

“Jess Colbeth scored on a short cross that beat the dive of freshman keeper Ciera Sweet [10 saves]. That goal was assisted by Lily Metzler who added a goal of her own early in the second half off of a misread corner kick that went over everyone into the back of the net.

“We were defending most of the game N/W got its lone goal off the constant hustle play of Shylah King, who beat several defenders to hit a ball for 20yards out over the keepers head. That was our one big bright spot,” said Exit 5 coach Jamal Jacobs.

The Northfield Girls will get a chance to play under the lights this week. Exit 5 will host Montpelier in a 6 P.M. game on Sabine Field, on the campus of Norwich University, this Saturday night. The game is part of a double header with the Williamstown/Northfield Boys playing in the second game. That game will follow right after the Girl’s game and both games will be “Senior Night” games” with recognition ceremonies prior to the event.
