Here is an excellent opportunity to get a tax write off before the end of the year, and support a great new Welcome Sign to show off what an amazing town we all live in.  Ken Hepburn and Leslie Striebe have worked together to create this fabulous new sign to be placed in the North and South end where the current signs are located.  This sign will be lit at night and will measure 8 feet by 4 feet. (the dotted line in the road is being removed.) The hope is that they will have perennials underneath the signs, though they are still looking for folks who would help in maintaining them.  The signs will be made by Significant Signs in Island Pond, VT.  The old signs will still be used on 12A from Roxbury into town and also on Cox Brook Road on the way in from Moretown.  There are no signs currently in those locations.
Donations are being collected to help fund this $15,000 project. If you would like to donate, please make your check out to NCDN. You can mail it to PO Box 215, Northfield Falls 05664 and put Welcome Sign on the memo line.  This is a 503c non-profit so it will be a tax deduction for your returns.  They have also mailed out over 100 letters requesting donations from businesses.  To date, only 4 businesses have responded, so hopefully there will be more donations coming in.  As of the end of November there has been $1,700 raised.  There will be a plaque created to honor all who donate to this cause.  Townsfolk can see how the fundraising is doing by checking out the thermometer by the front door of the town hall.  Please support this new “curb appeal” for all those who enter Northfield, as we hope to show prospective businesses and families what a wonderful community we are.
